Soooo sunny..wooohoo. To celebrate I'm wearing many colours, first my navy sleeveless top from dotti (gotta love their sales). The high neck and the matte look of the material make it easy to dress up. Also my Mum's charcoal Esprit cardigan. Teamed up with my mustard jeans I bought back at the end of January right before I went to Aussie. I was on the hunt for some coloured jeans but didn't want to commit to anything with too much of a pricetag. Then I came across these in the warehouse for $15. And I've worn them far more than I thought I would. Score. I bought these teracotta high heeled sandals from Sports Girl while I was in Australia for $20! I was so satisfied. As for the necklace, it's another one of my childhood jewellary box finds. What do you think overall??

Soo Frida
Anna's fiesta was a success! Tequila was present, everybody was dancing and when the pinata popped, it created a lolly scramble like I haven't witnessed since I was about twelve. Here's evidence of a few of the mexicans that were in attendance...
My resemblance to Frida Kahlo was uncanny, even if I do say so myself.
Anna's flatmate made this pinata..with incredible skill and in such a short time might I add.
Addios Amigoes....xx

Stuck in Neutral
Super comfy today in my ottomode top that I bought in February while I was in Australia and my calf length skirt I found in an Island Bay op-shop. Whenever I'm out and about I always have my RPM handbag with me. It has soo many pockets!! I had been looking at it for ages before my Mum gave it to me for my birthday. Also teamed it all up with this gold chain necklace I found in our childhood jewellary box. Good find! Anyways I'm going to get ready now for Anna's fiesta tonight which I mentioned was coming up a few posts ago....super excited...gunna channel my inner Frida Kahlo. I'll let you know how it goes...have a fun Friday night xx

I heart velvet
2 days of Kmart bargins in a row! I bought this dress the same day I got the floral leggings I posted about yesterday...that was a good day for bargin hunting! I love the silhouette of this dress, the long sleves with the slightly lower back...plus it's velvet!! I think all this combined makes it slightly more glamorous which I enjoy. (I have Fergie singing in my head right about now.) I teamed the dress up with my silver heart locket that my Nana gave me for my 21st and my chunky, silver heart chain bracelet I found on the beach at Flax-mill bay. The plain dress allowed me to show off my Forever 21 floral lace tights that I bought last season. And of course I wouldn't be able to survive Welly without my merino socks as per usual! I'm mega super excited for a couple of events I have going on over the weekend, so stay glued for more on those later...until then, seeya later aligator xx

Comfort Food
I feel like I've been harping on about the weather in nearly every post, but it's hard not to when it jumps from one extreme to the next. Lately it's been mainly of the cold and wet variety, which always makes me want to eat more. It's probably my instinct to hibernate kicking in...I've been craving sleep more and more and the idea of letting winter pass and waking up when it's over sounds rather appealing. I thought I'd share with you the comfort food my day revolved around yesterday....
For about a week now I've been craving mini marshmallows and I finally got some yesterday!
In a bid to procrastinate productively I thought I'd turn domesticated and whip up some pikelets for my flat. Unfortunatly I added too much baking powder so they failed to be the success I had hoped for.
(Though my flatmates were kind enough to eat them anyway.)
I did succed however at making a respectable pumpkin soup for dinner! Pumpkin soup/ soup in general is probably my favourite thing about winter.
Stay warm, eat soup...xx

When the fishes flew
Hey guys! I'm going for ultimate comfort today. I've got on my RPM jersey dress which I nabbed from their factory shop in summer. They bring something similar out every year and their so comfy and easy to wear. Especially good for layering up underneath on days like today too. I've also busted out my floral leggings which I love. I got them from Kmart a couple of years ago for $15! It's been two years and I still can't believe the bargin!! Stay dry and remember to hit the hype button! (pretty pretty please) xx

You make me smile
At last another outfit post! Finally got myself on track enough to get this sorted. Mum and I made this poncho last winter and I thought it was about time I pull it out again. It was so super easy to make with hardly any sewing involved. And it cost less than $15 for the materials too! I love wearing this poncho because it's so nice to snuggle into, even while I'm in class! Chucked on my wollen tights today too, in an attepmt to beat the weather...thus far it's a draw...

Yo Mama
Sooo glad last week is over! Let's forget that happened! But I was lucky enough to catch a ride back to Tauranga for the weekend and see my parents. So nice to go home and catch up with family and friends and it was Mother's Day too.
I love it when the trees turn this colour! It makes the nippy air more bearable...We walked past this park on the way to morning tea on Mother's day.
Mum and I shared this delicious berry cake, with yoghurt on the side for her and cream for me mmmmmmm.
Happy Mother's Day Mum! Can't wait to be home again in another 4 weeks!

Feeling like a Toad
I'm having one of those days. You know the ones where everything just goes so wrong and the more the day goes on it just gets worse. I've lost all motivation for anything productive, but the due dates are still looming. What a pickle. I hope your hump day is better than mine. xx

Pretty People at a Party
Here's a few photos of the people I caught up with on Saturday night at the 21st I went to. Unfortunately I didn't get one of the Birthday Girl! I was so busy talking I forgot to get my snap-happiness on, but here's a few good looking peps to keep you going anyway... This week is a stressy one! I'll let you know how it all goes down at the end of it if I survive...adios amigos

Down for Double Denim
I've been busting to wear this denim shirt for ages! I've had it for years after I thrifted it out of my Mum's wardrobe. I've been admiring so many girls at Uni pulling off the denim on denim look so I thought I'd give it a go. What do you think?
I'm going out to celebrate a twenty-first tonight so hopefully I'll be able to share how it goes with you tomorrow! Stay tuned!! xx

Already Dreaming of Summer
Has anybody else around here noticed how chilly it's got so quickly?!? A slower transition might have been a bit kinder I'm thinking. It was nice not to get wet today though, after the last few days. Don't you think bad weather just makes everything you have to do seem harder? Well good luck with whatever that is that you have to do and buckle in for the downward slide to the weekend I say.

Happy Birthday Anna
Yesterday was my good friend Annas birthday. There were presents and cake and plenty of cocktails just like any good 20th birthday. A lovely night with lovely company...now I can't wait for her fiesta in 2 weeks time!!
This was my gift and card I made for Anna
Anna's flatmate Maddie prepared a good looking feast (this is post-feast)
(listening intently)
Have a wonderful year Anna!
